THE ANCHOR
"The Anchor Holds In Spite of The Storm"
An Anchor, when properly used, holds a marine vessel securely and keeps it from drifting away from the captains desired position. Therefore under the teachings of the Spirit of God, what in Hebrew is called the Torah (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, numbers, and Deuteronomy) serves us as an Anchor to keep us from drifting away from God's good, acceptable and perfect will for our lives. (Romans 12:1-4; Hebrews 8:1-13)
We have come to the understanding, that the daily study of these books, along with the rest of the Scriptures, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, is the way God promised and systematically places in our minds and then writes them in our hearts, as the New Covenant Jesus declared. As followers of Jesus the Christ (Hebrew - Yeshua HaMashiach), our desire is to regard the Law of God (the Torah) the same way Jesus (Yeshua) did when he was here and left instructions to continue to do so. (II Kings 22:1-11; Jeremiah 31:31-34; Mathew 28:18-20; II Corinthians 6:14-18; Hebrews 8:1-13) Jeremiah 31:31-34 / Hebrews 8:1-13 "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah — not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the LORD. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law (Torah) in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more." I Timothy 1:8-11 But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully (II Timothy 3:16-17; Psalms 1:1-6 & Psalms 119:1-176), knowing this: that the law (the Torah-Instructions on life) is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.
Hebrews 6:18-20 NASB This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and
steadfast and one which enters within the veil, (20) where Jesus (Yeshua) has
entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to
the order of Melchizedek.
