From the Hebrew's Amidah (the Standing) Prayer:
[The Eighteen Blessings]

10. FOR GATHERING OF EXILES:
Sound the great shofar for our  (the house of Judah) freedom,
raise the ensign to gather our (the house of Israel) exiles,
(Zech 9:13-17)
and gather us (both houses) from the four corners of the earth.
Blessed are you, O Lord, who gathers the dispersed of his people Israel.
(Isaiah 11:11-14)

THE GOSPEL MESSAGE THAT Paul preached

Romans 1:16-17 NKJV For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power (Dunamis) of God to salvation or everyone who believes (believes what? See James 2:19), for the Jew first and also for the Greek (Hellenist). (17) For in it (the gospel of Christ) the righteousness of God is revealed from faith (for Justification) to faith (for Glorification); as it is written, "THE JUST  [G1342  δίκαιος  dikaios - those declared totally innocent, holy]  SHALL LIVE  [G2198  ζάω  zaō- to live or come alive] BY FAITH."  (Habakkuk 2:4)

Exodus 25:1-40 (NASB) 1

1 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2 "Tell the sons of Israel to raise a contribution for Me; from every man whose heart moves him you shall raise My contribution. 3 "This is the contribution [heave offering] which you are to raise from them: gold, silver and bronze, 4 blue, purple and scarlet material, fine linen, goat hair, 5 rams' skins dyed red, porpoise skins, acacia wood, 6 oil for lighting, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, 7 onyx stones and setting stones for the ephod and for the breastpiece. 8 "Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them. 9 "According to all that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture, just so you shall construct it. 10 "They shall construct an ark of acacia wood two and a half cubits long, and one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high. 11 "You shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and out you shall overlay it, and you shall make a gold molding around it. 12 "You shall cast four gold rings for it and fasten them on its four feet, and two rings shall be on one side of it and two rings on the other side of it. 13 "You shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. 14 "You shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, to carry the ark with them. 15 "The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be removed from it. 16 "You shall put into the ark the testimony which I shall give you. 17 "You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide. 18 "You shall make two cherubim of gold, make them of hammered work at the two ends of the mercy seat. 19 "Make one cherub at one end and one cherub at the other end; you shall make the cherubim of one piece with the mercy seat at its two ends. 20 "The cherubim shall have their wings spread upward, covering the mercy seat with their wings and facing one another; the faces of the cherubim are to be turned toward the mercy seat. 21 "You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony which I will give to you. 22 "There I will meet with you; and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, I will speak to you about all that I will give you in commandment for the sons of Israel. 23 "You shall make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long and one cubit wide and one and a half cubits high. 24 "You shall overlay it with pure gold and make a gold border around it. 25 "You shall make for it a rim of a handbreadth around it; and you shall make a gold border for the rim around it. 26 "You shall make four gold rings for it and put rings on the four corners which are on its four feet. 27 "The rings shall be close to the rim as holders for the poles to carry the table. 28 "You shall make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold, so that with them the table may be carried. 29 "You shall make its dishes and its pans and its jars and its bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold. 30 "You shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before Me at all times. 31 "Then you shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand and its base and its shaft are to be made of hammered work; its cups, its bulbs and its flowers shall be of one piece with it. 32 "Six branches shall go out from its sides; three branches of the lampstand from its one side and three branches of the lampstand from its other side. 33 "Three cups shall be shaped like almond blossoms in the one branch, a bulb and a flower, and three cups shaped like almond blossoms in the other branch, a bulb and a flower -so for six branches going out from the lampstand; 34 and in the lampstand four cups shaped like almond blossoms, its bulbs and its flowers. 35 "A bulb shall be under the first pair of branches coming out of it, and a bulb under the second pair of branches coming out of it, and a bulb under the third pair of branches coming out of it, for the six branches coming out of the lampstand. 36 "Their bulbs and their branches shall be of one piece with it; all of it shall be one piece of hammered work of pure gold. 37 "Then you shall make its lamps seven in number; and they shall mount its lamps so as to shed light on the space in front of it. 38 "Its snuffers and their trays shall be of pure gold. 39 "It shall be made from a talent of pure gold, with all these utensils. 40 "See that you make them after the pattern for them, which was shown to you on the mountain.

Mishpochah, the week got a marvelous kick-start this morning with the sunshine. Yesterday the sun made only a “guest” appearance in the morning and then the usual winter blah settled for the day. In the course of our story, the focus is now shifting off the sealing of the covenant to the work that should be done making a fit place for The Creator to “move into” the midst of the Israelites. From out of the riches that they took out with them from Egypt they would donate to the building of the furniture noted. The legend and the stories that surround the present location of this mysterious and holy ark have circulated for centuries. It was made of the base of acacia wood and then completely covered in gold. The angels or cherubim on this magnificent ‘box’ were of beaten or “hammered” gold and were one piece continuous with the top itself. Was it coincidence that just this past week I listened to a podcast in the series on Acts by Chuck Missler who spoke of the present location of the ark and its component, the mercy seat? Apparently, he and Bob Cornuke 2 (who is an explorer and adventurer for artifacts called “The Legend Chaser”), took an excursion to the Church of St Mary’s of Zion, where the ark has apparently been under special Ethiopian guard for centuries in the city of Axum3. Although he admits he has no proof, Mr. Missler feels that the “mercy seat” with the cherubim will be the “offering” spoken of in Zephaniah, chapter three:

8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy. 9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language (Hebrew) that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent. 10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering. (KJV)

Even the daughter of my dispersed”? What an interesting phrase used there. What I actually know about Ethiopia could fit on the head of a pin. I know it’s on the African continent and that Moses and Solomon had things to do with the Ethiopian people. Also there was an encounter with the apostle Philip and an Ethiopian

26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. 27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, 28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet. 29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. 30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? 31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. 32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer , so opened he not his mouth: 33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. 34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. 36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. 39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. Acts 8:26-38 (KJV)

When I went over this portion this morning the questions that came to my mind immediately were these: Now why was a eunuch who looked after the “treasures” of his queen going “to Jerusalem to worship”? Then when he was returning from that worship, why was he reading from the works of the prophet Esaias/Isaiah? Is there a very real connection here between Ethiopia and end times? This story reminded me of something Mr. Missler said about Ethiopia being a very poor nation but a very happy nation of Christians (influenced by the Greek Orthodox Church and yet who observe much Biblically Jewish culture as well). Are these who guard this treasure in Ethiopia really “Ethiopian Levites”? And to cap off the portion regarding the conversion of this Ethiopian civil servant, isn’t it amazing that Philip was “caught away”? This doesn’t sound like Philip just walked away—he was “caught” away. The Greek for that term is har-pad'-zo: From a derivative of G138; to seize (in various applications): - catch (away, up), pluck, pull, take (by force). Here is a case of a man being transported from one geographical location to another by the express command of God. Call it a sort of teleportation or being ‘beamed to an alternate location’ but it is an extraordinary act of God which some true ‘men of God’ in our generation say will occur in the very last days when persecution is fierce. As all acts of God that are beyond our ability to explain, I suspect that this is something that might be reserved for those who can and will “BELIEVE”!

Our usual limits for time and space have been far exceeded already today! But admittedly, there is much to nosh on and don’t take my word for any of it. I turn you all loose under His authority to check it out for yourselves!
