From the Hebrew's Amidah (the Standing) Prayer:
[The Eighteen Blessings]

10. FOR GATHERING OF EXILES:
Sound the great shofar for our  (the house of Judah) freedom,
raise the ensign to gather our (the house of Israel) exiles,
(Zech 9:13-17)
and gather us (both houses) from the four corners of the earth.
Blessed are you, O Lord, who gathers the dispersed of his people Israel.
(Isaiah 11:11-14)

THE GOSPEL MESSAGE THAT Paul preached

Romans 1:16-17 NKJV For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power (Dunamis) of God to salvation or everyone who believes (believes what? See James 2:19), for the Jew first and also for the Greek (Hellenist). (17) For in it (the gospel of Christ) the righteousness of God is revealed from faith (for Justification) to faith (for Glorification); as it is written, "THE JUST  [G1342  δίκαιος  dikaios - those declared totally innocent, holy]  SHALL LIVE  [G2198  ζάω  zaō- to live or come alive] BY FAITH."  (Habakkuk 2:4)

Exodus 23:20-25 (NASB) 1

20 "Behold, I am going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. 21 "Be on your guard before him and obey his voice; do not be rebellious toward him, for he will not pardon your transgression, since My name is in him. 22 "But if you truly obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. 23 "For My angel will go before you and bring you in to the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will completely destroy them. 24 "You shall not worship their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their deeds; but you shall utterly overthrow them and break their sacred pillars in pieces. 25 "But you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst.

In our day, it might be a very good thing to realize or contemplate on the wonders of our Father God. The passage today begs BELIEF on the part of Israel just as in our town time He begs BELIEF of us. Many have a bit of difficulty thinking “outside the box”. Perhaps the reason is because we’ve never really spent much time on the true abilities and workings of the Ancient of Days. We were taught that He is all knowing and that He is everywhere and that He is all powerful. His ways are beyond knowing and for us, understanding! I might suggest that in the days to come believers of all parts of the world where they reside, might be so close to Him and so attentive that they will see wonders that they never could have dreamed! Our Father will work not only miracles, but acts of wonders, much like He did when He took those Israelites out of the sands of Egypt. We will be fortunate if we live to see those days and perhaps even be involved in some of those wonders. This may depend upon our ability to stretch our faith. Some believers might be surprised to admit to themselves that they might know that our Father God did many signs and wonders in the Old World of the Bible and perhaps as many through Messiah in the New World of the Bible, but have they really BELIEVED that these things were done? Then the next question would be, “Could they truly believe that our Father will do greater things yet than these at some point in human history?”

17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; 18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. 19 He answereth him, and saith , O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. 20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. 21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. 22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. 23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 24 And straightway the father of the child cried out , and said with tears, Lord, I believe ; help thou mine unbelief. 25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him. 26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead. 27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. 28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? 29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. Mark 9:17-29 (KJV)

Is this story not a clear-cut case of Messiah removing the sickness from their midst? He said, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth”. In this day and age, in the western hemisphere, we find it very difficult to believe that demons can possess people. We call it mental illness. We might even call it epilepsy. But what are these things, really? Are we so sophisticated and brilliant now that we can actually KNOW what is at the bottom of so many illnesses? Or might it be that we don’t believe in demon possession of any sort and so that makes it “impossible”? Even the disciples had a problem with this boy and queried Messiah. And Messiah stated, “This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting”. And I might ask, how important is prayer and fasting in the modern church? When I left it some years ago, it was actually frowned upon. Fasting was looked upon as something aberrant—something off the wide path of evangelicalism. “We can’t just pray, pray. Pray all the time, at some point we have to do something!” This is almost word for word what I was told by one of the more “religious”. Narrow is the path and few there be that find it!

Here is a partial list of wondrous things that were done by Messiah that we never really contemplate in all their fullness: Catching Unusually Many Fish in the Sea of Galilee; Stilling a Storm on the Sea of Galilee; Feeding Five Thousand People; Walking on the Water; Finding a Coin in the Mouth of a Fish; Cursing a Fig Tree near Bethany; Turning Water into Wine at a Wedding in Cana; Raising from the Dead a Widow's Son at Nain; Raising from the Dead the Daughter of Jairus; Raising Lazarus of Bethany from the Dead. And what about all those healings whose origins were simply a malady of mankind? Healing a Royal Official's Son at Cana; Healing a Man at the Pool of Bethesda in Jerusalem; Giving Sight to a Man Blind since Birth; Healing a Slave's Severed Ear and so many more but we don’t have space today! We are seeing wondrous works of our Father God today and we don’t even realize it! Why is it that when I’ve driven colleagues home across town after work when they have no vehicle and get them home safely to their door—does my gas tank seem to take longer to empty? Why is it that when I’ve made sure to pull out a tenth and secured it for giving away that I’ve never felt pinched for money? What about all those marvelous works of synchronicity that have exploded in our lives? My daughter said that she must quit the entry level job with the low pay to find something more substantial in order to fully take care of her two children and pay the rent. She agonized over it and then finally a job opened up and she agonized more to tell her kind boss: “Sorry, I have to leave and take this other job; I must take a higher wage where I can get it.” Then finally, daughter made the move and sent her communication and the boss came back and said, “Oh I am SO glad that you’re leaving and found something better! I didn’t know how to tell you—I knew that you’re having a hard time to make ends meet already and I’m not making enough money on this retail outlet and I have to close it at the end of May!” Happy ending. Would one go so far as to say a “miraculous” and “wondrous” ending? It is for those who will BELIEVE!

47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! 48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. 49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel. 50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these. John 1:47-50 (KJV)

It appears that our Messiah and His Father are impressed with those of us who can BELIEVE in even the smallest of capacities! And He takes that little capacity and promises “greater things than these”! If the Israelites truly BELIEVED in the God of Moses, they wouldn’t have lost faith at a critical time because they didn’t see Moshe coming down from the mountain. It was easier for them to believe that Moses had gotten killed or fell off that mountain than it was for them to fall on their knees, exercising even a small modicum of belief and ask HIM, “Father God where is Moshe? We believe You but where is Moshe?” Yahweh would have given them an answer. Narrow is the path and few there be that find it!

And how like Israel are we all? We choose to believe or not believe in many things because we pick and choose based on our frames of reference and knowledge when we “know” so little in the first place. We say things like, “That can’t happen based on the laws of physics,” and we cut our faith off, as it were! Now would be a good time to stretch and grow our faith and strengthen what we BELIEVE He CAN and WILL do. Our Father God stands outside of our time domain and He’s outside of our worldly based laws of physics and who in the world do we think invented these laws of physics in the first place? The one who created them for our benefit is just the One who is able to bend, suspend, stretch or even change those same laws of physics! 50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these. INDEED!
